The TWO batteries (the details said 4) that were included were best up, in bad shape, and didn't work when I placed them in the scale.The scale box was beat up, regardless of being inside another shipping box. The plastic case was scratched up. Now I have to go out and buy more batteries because these were faulty. That or the scale itself is. I will see when I go out and purchase batteries. Sigh. At least the scale itself is seemingly in good shape
