My original beehive Oster blender failed so I ordered this one thinking the slightly larger jar would be an advantage. The shape of the larger jar seems to retard the feeding of the product into the blades. It would take more than twice as long as the original beehive with the old jar to blend the same mix.I now use the old jar and it is blending even better than the old blender. This new one has a more powerful motor hence it is horribly noisy but at least it blends with the old jar
