I bought a Vitamix 5200 around 20 years ago (love that blender) and just recently the pitcher cracked. I replaced it with this item and it appears identical in size and shape, and has all the same measurement marks on the container as the original. The only differences are that the new blades are serrated, and the hardware on the bottom is solid metal without a plastic guard. It fits perfectly onto the base, and the mechanism joins the base for smooth operation, as advertised. We have made smoothies with veggies and frozen berries, and give it a thumbs up for both thin and thick smoothies. The item also came with an extra blade and other parts. We haven't tried crushing ice yet, so only time will tell if it is as durable as the first one, but it seems to be a good purchase.
