Product Description

Product Description During the summer of 1943, the F6F-5 HELLCAT appeared, an improved version of the F6F-3. It features a completely redesigned windscreen and engine hood and can carry up to 907 kg of bombs under the fuselage and six ground attack rockets under the wings, making it a particularly formidable attack aircraft mainly in the US squadrons Navy, but also the Marine Corps. The British version of the F6F-5, the Hellcat Mk II, will serve in the Royal Navy in Europe and the Pacific. After the war, the Hellcat will continue to serve within the U.S. Navy until 1953. The main foreign user was the French Navy which had three F6F-5 squadrons engaged in Indochina between 1950 and 1954. A total of 12,275 Hellcats were built, including 8,555 in the F6F-5 version, before production ceased in November 1945. Set Contains: 1 x Plastic model kit

This is one of the worst model kits I’ve ever built. The plastic is so thin that it’s translucent in places. The fit is terrible, large gaps between the wings and fuselage. Very little detail. Even the decals are of very poor quality. I wish I’d read the reviews before buying it. There must be a better kit of an F6F out there. I won’t be buying anything else from Heller
