Product Features

SLEEK SAWHORSE - The Smart Holder is a sawhorse that facilitates your work. The log is automatically secured when it has been slid in, and the design of the Smart Holder makes it impossible for the wood to pinch the guide bar. By this, 80 percent of the most common accident with chainsaws, i.d. a piece of a log that moves or a guide bar that is pinched, are eliminated.

PATENTED CLAW - The patented claw bites into the log holding it firmly in place allowing you to cut any length of log safely. The claw adjusts to hold logs from 1" in diameter up to 9" in diameter.

ERGONOMIC SOLUTION - The Logosol Smart-Holder eliminates awkward wooden sawhorses and allows you to easily and safely raise your firewood off the ground when cutting, sparing your back and shoulders from physical strain.

CONVENIENT STORAGE - The Smart-Holder It is easily assembled in 15 seconds or less and folds flat for easy storage. When folded the dimensions are 1180 x 380 x 50 mm.

This product does what I want it too and solidly holds rather large logs well for the bucking up process. Not great for smaller logs 2” a 3” in diameter as they don’t engage enough teeth to be super stable. Recommend putting a bag of sand, lead shot, or other heavy item on the base as it really helps with stability and the ability for the saw horse to hold more weight. So far this tool has been a help while working alone. It takes a little time to seat the wood in the jaws firmly and you need to exercise caution with that as the wood can twist out from the pull of the saw blades. I position heavy pieces on the bottom frame, which helps steady the unit. Great care as well as protective chaps are highly recommended while cutting at crotch level! I am satisfied overall however a helper along with a home made wood cradle is preferred anytime. An updated design to facilitate fast and easy change of the jaw opening would be a welcome upgrade. Update: OK, I've spent many hours using this tool by now and, after a little practice, I can say that it has most certainly earned it's keep, especially when cutting volumes of small diameter debris while alone. I could not possibly have safely cut the amount of wood that I have without this holder.I have a lot of trees to manage on my property, and that involves cutting wood to a usable length for a fireplace. This stand makes it possible to hold logs at a convenient cutting height securely and safely. It folds up to take very little room for storage. Anyone who expects to be using a chain saw to cut logs and branches to size will find this indispensable. It is a great time-saver to be able to put a log in the stand and cut it into sections one by one without having to pick it up and constantly reposition it. Ditto for putting a large limb into position for trimming off branches.Great idea execution has a little to be desired. Overall this item is pretty awesome. Makes cutting wood alone alot safer then proping a log up or wedging a log in place with your foot while using a chainsaw. This clamping action with the teeth make a nice tight grip on the log. Overall works well performance is great. Downside is the overall size of what I'll refer to as the jaw and teeth section where your friction clamp effect takes place while decent in size and usefully for most people I personally found it a little small for all the cutting of logs I do. Also while the unit is stable it's more stable in the grass then being used on a driveway and further more if the overall stance was wider by another 12 inches would make it alot more stable. While it works well I do plan on modifing it a bit by increasing it's width and also raising it's overall height. While most people I'm sure the hight is fine if you plan to use it alot another foot higher would be ideal for me. Nothing a little welding can't accomplish. But overall for a standard home owner with alot of trees and branches to manage this will work great for you as is. For people who harvest wood for fire place or wood burning stove it will need some modifications to make it really helpful. This Logosol log holder works for one-operator wood cutting under many circumstances. I found that the pendulum log holder does not hold well until a piece reaches about 2 inches in diameter. And, as was true with others, you must have this holder on a reasonably flat surface. That might not always be available to you if you are taking the holder to the log. It works well when it works, and it folds flat for easy carriage and storage. This product works extremely well. I was a sceptic when I ordered the wood holder but have put it to good use lately with all the post storm clean ups I've been doing. I've never liked cutting up the small diameter material (I don't have a chipper so I burn in the wood stove) - typically I'd pin down on the ground partly over another piece of wood with one foot to keep my blade out of the dirt. Sometimes the smaller pieces would ride up or even kick back at you no matter how careful you were. This holder keeps the material to be cut at a more comfortable level and very stable providing you take the second or two it takes to lock the piece in place in the swingarm teeth. What surprised me the most was how well it holds the larger diameter mini logs also. I find myself piling up similiar diameter pieces and then zipping through them with ease without making any adjustments for diameter then going to the next size range. After using the smart-holder a short time you will get a feel for what sizes will be held securely without having to adjust the swing arm (which is quite simple and not a big deal anyhow). After cutting a "log" down, the last piece in the holder does release quite easily. I like to stack the wood to be cut on top of something close to the level of the jaws and get into a rythm of loading, locking (usually a slight push down) and cutting. I do believe this system to be a much safer and more efficient way of getting this chore done. I wear steel toed boots, protective chaps, helmet (with face shield and hearing protection) which I'd recommend to anyone regardless of how you approach this thankless task. The holder does fold up and transport easily and appears like it will hold up to serious use. This tool in my opinion is well worth the price.Easy to set up, but very unstable. Doesn't hold log securely. Log wobbles while cutting. Need to frequently re-adjust the jaws for the next size log. Slides if using in wintertime.I wish I had seen this tool a long time ago. I am getting older, 78 and it is getting more difficult to cut the small firewood logs without them jumping around. You know, those that are 6" down to the 1" in diameter? Well I bought this Logosol holder thinking it would be a gimmick and not worth the metal it was made from. Boy was I surprised. It is wonderful. It holds to logs in place while cutting. The logs are easy to insert into the holder. It's strong and stays in place and easy to move around. I sure wish I invented it and had my name on the tool. it's great!
