I used this scale the first week I received it and it worked just fine. It weighed to 0.005 of an ounce, which is a bit aggressive/maddening, but I loved the small size, so I was willing to deal. About a month later (conveniently, just after the return/exchange window closed), I tried to use the scale again and it had gone wonky. I was able to turn it on, but not use the "tare" button, so I had to do the math if I wanted to weight multiple items on the same plate. Also, it wouldn't turn off unless I pulled out the battery. After a day-ish, the battery was worn down and the scale went from being annoying to completely useless. I have used a lot of kitchen scales, and this one is just pretty much useless. I found another small one at Wal-Mart for just over half the price and, fingers crossed, this one will behave itself.It arrived so swiftly that I nearly fell over from the rushing wind. We are really pleased with this scale. It is doing a wonderful job weighing small items and I like the way it looks. Scales are often trashy looking, this one is slick.
