I have owned this scale for over two months, and I love it. I use it everyday.This scale makes figuring out serving sizes for portion control easy. And yes, the convenience of figuring out how many calories is in your food is helpful for counting calories -- or just for a little wake-up call.But, I also use it when I bake. I hate to measure butter. Now, I put my Kitchenaid stand mixer bowl on the scale. Zero-out the tare and weigh my butter. I do this with everything. It is incredible to me how many times a day I pull this scale off of the shelf to weigh something. From using it to make sure I'm putting enough protein powder in my smoothie, to weighing pasta before I cook it, I use this scale at every meal. I even weigh my cereal in the morning.Among the features I like about the EatSmart Digital Nutrition Scale is the ability to easily switch between grams and ounces. I also like the ability to input specific nutrition information that is not provided in scale's program.My only complaint about the scale is that I wish they included more nutritional information for various fruits and vegetables. There are only 69 fruit entries, and only 156 vegetable entries. Now, for those who do not consume a predominately raw, vegan diet this may seem like it should cover everything -- but it does not. Furthermore, there are a lot of repeats for various types of oranges, corn on the cob, lettuce, mushrooms, peppers, and potatoes. This is good. I just wish there were more fruit and vegetable options than meat and dairy options (of which there are 512 entries). I just think that if we're trying to help people clean up their diets we should encourage choosing fresh, raw vegetables and fruits.UPDATE, May 26, 2013: I continue to use this scale everyday. It has remained accurate and easy to use.Unfortunately, this morning, when I took the scale from it's place on the shelf, the glass tray was wobbly. I tried to re-secure the glass tray to the scale base, but it won't lock into place. The function of the scale still works, but I am now concerned the glass tray may fall off and break. This design flaw could easily be fixed--creating a more durable product--if they used metal pieces to connect the base and the tray, rather than plastic.UPDATE, July 19, 2013: I wanted to update this yet again and let you know that I contacted the company about the problem I was having with the glass tray. The owner, Bill, was very helpful and offered to send me a new glass since that was the only problem with the scale.I continue to be extremely pleased with this purchase.
