This thing is a beast. I use it on everything, but the test is my homemade peanut butter. An average blender can't handle making peanut butter, this thing does it with power to spare. The wind from the motor actually blew things off my counter the first time I turned it on. The design really does force the blend up and back to the center, but the angles require a little more effort to clean the inside. Also it is loud, it's like a mini jet engine. But these little inconveniences are well worth the power and capabilities. I have yet to feel like I am over working it, not even close, but it can get hot pretty quick. The only reason this model is not 5 stars is that I should've got the model with more digital controls. Overall, this blender rocks. And if I ever stop blending, I can take the motor out and put it on a go kart LOL ?Blender was great while I had it. It made nut milk once, all other milks, and even my daily smoothies. But the day I attempted to make a nut butter…you can almost bet, that butter is still unbuttered in a non-working blender.It was fun while it lasted. They say all “cheap things come to an end” no matter how good it isBlender worked great when I first used it. Nice blending power. But now it’s not blending at all.EDIT (March 2022):I increased my rating from 1 to 3 Stars because the manufacturer warranty from JAWZ was fair--I filed a claim against my JAWZ blender unit and (after 2-3 months) received a claim check for the retail amount I paid for the blender and, while I do appreciate being refunded for this unit, the blender has an unacceptably short service life, and the inability to purchase additional blender vessels and blades is ridiculous.Original Review:I bought this JAWZ (Toggle Switch) Blender in May 2020 as a more affordable alternative to Vitamix; I should have gone with the Vitamix. This blender is powerful--albeit very loud--and blended my smoothies satisfactorily. However, after about a year of nearly daily use, this blender is now showing signs of malfunctioning...On more than one occasion I have toggled the speed to high and when toggling back down to low the speed stays on high. The digital LED display has flickered/blinked and at least one time did it 'glitch' and displayed illegible figures. And the following behavior is simply unacceptable for a high-powered blender rated at one or more horsepower: during a blending cycle I've toggled the speed to high and then toggled the speed to 'off' and the blender kept blending on high causing me to have to flip the side on/off power button to safely stop it; and blender unexpectedly stopped completely during a blending cycle that was toggled to 'high', so the speed toggle was still set to active-blend on 'high' but the blender was not blending, again I had to use the side on/off switch to safely power down the blender for handling.In addition to the above grievances, there appears no way to order separate components for these blenders through the manufacturer on Amazon or elsewhere. I was interested in buying another blender top for the base so I could have two on-hand, but I was unsuccessful in discovering how to which mades me think it isn't possible (bizarre if true).At the price point, you'll save some money upfront, but I also expect it to last longer than a year and, since it hasn't, I'm considering this blender a waste of money, especially when considering the clear lack of support for the blender as far as purchasing accessory components etc. If you're looking at this as an 'affordable' alternative to a Vitamix, just eat the premium cost of the Vitamix and go with that instead, it's what we all really want in a blender anyway.My ARFID child is very sensitive to textures & this blender definitely matches the texture of a store bought smoothie. My Ninja blender could never get the texture smooth enough for her. It is easy to clean & the fact you don’t have to align the lid or twist the blender onto the base is a plus. The only down point is that it is ear deafeningly loud, so you might want to wear some noise cancelling earbuds when you use it.PRICE: With comparable high performance blenders costing much more (e.g. a new base model Vitamix or a refurbished base model Blendtec both costing near $300), this Jawz High Performance Toggle Switch Blender is a great deal at only $199.99.LOOKS: This blender looks great and feels sturdy and of high quality. It is about the same size as comparable Vitamix and Blendtec blenders. The toggles, switches and container are well marked.FUNCTIONALITY: Almost everything is easy with this blender, from operating it using the simple toggles and buttons, to scraping and cleaning the square edged container and cleaning the base. The only thing that is a bit challenging is not having a tamper to help push down ingredients while the blender is blending. Instead, you have to stop the blender, take the lid off, use a scraper or spoon to push the ingredients down, put on the lid and blend again. I needed to do this a few times while making the Buffalo Hummus recipe from the included recipe book, but this might have been because I substituted the olive oil for unsweetened apple sauce (we try to avoid all added oils for health reasons).The blender stays put on the counter even when blending at high speed. However, the air vents on the sides push out quite a bit of air, so loose items like paper could be pushed around. Like any loud appliance or tool I use, I make sure to wear ear protection during use. IMPORTANT NOTE: the instructions warn not to blend hot liquids (item 13 on page 3 of the Instructions Manual).MY FAVORITES: What I like most about this blender is how easy it is to use and clean. I especially love the square edged container, which makes it so easy to scrape, clean up and dry with a cloth. My favorite thing to make with it is a smoothie, since it takes me no more than 5 minutes from putting the ingredients in to having the blender all cleaned up afterwards. Ice doesn't stand a chance with this blender. Unless you have a need for the extra features of the higher-priced Jawz blenders, I recommend this lower-priced base model, as most of the time, you will likely only need a low or high speed option and a pulse option.
