Really like this heater so far. Have only had it a short period of time. So far so good though. The thermostat works really well - it seems to put out a decent amount of heat - I would say probably good up to 400 sq. ft.-I use this in a large master bedroom with vaulted ceilings and works well to keep room warm. Having a high and low settings great along with the timer. 2 things I do not like:1) the lights on the front a very bright. I like keeping my bedroom dark when I’m sleeping (either day or night) and this thing brightens up the room like Christmas lights. I am going to try some dimming paper I saw on here and see if it works. I tried some black tape but it blocked the signal from the remote. I don’t know if it’s because it was too think or just having anything on it causes interference. I’ll find out soon.2) the beeps are pretty loud. Not a super big deal because I usually set it and leave it alone but if you have to toggle settings in the middle of the night, the loud beeping could wake up whoever is next to you.Overall, if these things don’t matter to you, it is a very good heater. I just wish companies thought for a second about how people use these things and make them more convenience. Buttons don’t have to be loud lights don’t have to be bright. These things can be a more subtle.EDIT: The dimmer paper works well. Brightness no longer an issue but still can see display clearly across the room. Below is the paper I used if anyone is interested. Just be sure not to cover where the power indicator is. I believe the sensor for the remote is somewhere in that area and will block the signal completely.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B006R0VWSG?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_shareWorked well for the time it actually… worked. We put it away for summer and then wouldn’t start when we got back out.I use It to heat our 900 sf garage. I keep it on the low setting. It keeps garage at 60°F when outdoor temp is at 52°F. Only half of walls are insulated including overhead doors. Ceiling is insulated with 16" blown-in insulation material. We moved into a new house this past year and soon realized how drafty the windows are. The long term fix is to get new windows, but in the meantime these units keep the bedrooms warm at night. They work great in our medium sized rooms (12 x 13 feet or so) and the toggle to go to "low" heat level is great since running all three on "high" at the same time blows the breaker (our problem, not the heater).A few nitpicks:1) The display is very bright and there's no way to dim it that I have found. So we put some electrical tape over the display so it's not lighting up the bedroom at night.2) The beep when you press a button is loud and also cannot be disabled from what I can find. This bugs your spouse if you change something in the night.3) I wish there was an option to skip the remore. I have toddlers and they're always finding it and changing settings. I solved that problem by removing the batteries from the remote, but it would be nice if I didn't have to buy the part with no intention of using it.First of all when you pick it up it feels like there’s something in there. Much better quality than others I’ve owned. I have a 3300 square foot apt with electric heat. I used these heaters as a supplement. This works perfectly! I can easily turn it or wheel it to the room I’m in. It’s safe on low pile carpet and the cord doesn’t get hot after running it all day. The room is never too cool or too warm because it shuts on and off to maintain your desired set temp. For the price I was thrilled with this heater! I spent 286.00 on an Eden Pure last winter and it didn’t even last a season. It comes with a remote- triple A batteries are NOT included. The cord is also 6 feet long which is very helpful. If I ever buy another one of these, it will be a refurb or warehouse return at half this price. And I will get a model with a wood exterior. The super thin metal on this one makes it very lightweight and empty feeling, which might be good for an elderly person who wants to move it from room to room often. But this makes it feel and look extremely cheap, and means there is an annoying sound when you touch any part of it - a loud hollow metallic echo like if you tapped your knuckle against a big thin metal trash can that you bought at the dollar store. This unit puts out around the same heat as basically all modern space heaters, regardless of this one's claim of having more heating elements than others. With all heaters that plug into your standard home wall power outlet, as far as I understand - the output limit of any space heater is due to two things only: (1) The draw limit of the power outlet. To produce any more heat, the heater would need to draw more electric power, which would either trip the house's fuse protection or damage the wiring in the walls. (2) The maximum level of heat that can be created without the heater itself becoming a fire hazard, or its surfaces becoming a burn hazard if touched. So the limitation of any heater is not how many "heating elements" it has, and there is no need to take this marketing gimmick into consideration when choosing. At this price, this unit should include available options to turn down the volume of, or mute, the loud electronic beep that sounds every single time you press any button. And there should be a way to reduce the brightness of the display, which is too high for a bedroom. And unfortunately the wheels on the bottom are so tiny and cheap that it's much easier to just pick up the unit and carry it, instead of trying to roll it across carpet. Made In China. I would never buy again at the price of $90-$100.On the positive side, I do give it credit for having a 3-prong grounded plug and a thick power cord.Read some reviews on amazon.com prior to purchase. A few people complained of the unit becoming extremely hot / smoking and the fan wasn't working.I dismantled the back cover as soon as my heater arrived to inspect how it was built and was shocked to discover there are no thermal limit switches anywhere on the heater housing. The limit switches are safeties built into almost all HVAC equipment- they cut power to the heater elements (or gas burners) if the unit gets too hot. If the fan fails, the heating elements will continue to heat everything around them to some pretty extreme temperatures. With no thermal limit switches there's nothing to cut power in the event this unit overheats, so buyer beware. The good:It's an affordable / cheap Chinese built heater that does what it's supposed to and operates quietly. The controls are easy to use and the unit is aesthetically pleasing. I plan to install a thermal limit switch to the element housing for my own peace of mind- but otherwise would not feel comfortable leaving this unit unattended. Was received very quickly. Handsome looking cabinet. Simple to use. Love the ambient temperature check option. It comes ON when ambient temperature needs it and stops when it has reached the requested temperature (NO +or- 2 degrees to cope with). Placed in a 400 sq ft open room. Warms it within minutes at under zero outdoor. Quiet operation. Nice large rear air-intake/filter. Strong cable preventing over-heating. Very safe to use. I have had various other LifeSmart heaters in past years, always with satisfaction. I am very happy with this new one.UPDATE 13 DAYS POST initial posting: The temperature is very accurate which I appreciate. I find that the fan has a bit of a rattling noise to it. When it shuts down, it makes a PUNK sound audible enough from 30 feet away. I thought it could have been compression of hot metal but I have 2 other metal case heaters (not the same style) and none of them make that sound when shutting down. Otherwise it would be the perfect heater for my space. This is a great product. We have a large room 30’ x 30’ and I set it up out of the box to 72 degrees and within 2 hours it had the room comfortable and shut down and maintained the temperature. It’s stays cool to the touch as indicated which is great with a busy 3 yr old running around. Thank youWorks great in our large basement bedroom. We have next to no insulation down there. We weren't able to sleep in our room during the winter months it was so cold, now I'm throwing the blankets off at night because it's so warm. So glad we purchased it. Definitely recommended. Especially for $108!I love this heater. It really works well and is not that expensive. It looks good in the decor. It arrived quickly. The only complaint I could make is it is a lot bigger than I expected. I have a smaller space heater and it is a LOT smaller. But I suppose you need the bigger size to heat a bigger room. This one is in a 40 X 20 ft. space and does okay if it is given lots of time to warm it up. I am happy with the purchase.
