This is NOT the most accurate scale...it's cheap, cheaply built...but I kept it b/c it pretty much does the job, and sending it back would have cost more than I paid for it. I wish I had got a Connair Thinner.December 21, 2011Is this the corect way to update an old review? Well, I guess it is now, at least for my sake. I could not stand this scale's inaccuracy. It remained true that shipping it back was not worth it. So, I just gave it away and then bought a Connair scale. It cost just about as much as this one and it is so much better. Why only 1 star? Well I paid for it and even without obtaining a refund I was still so unwilling to use the product I gave it away for nothing and then paid for another scale. Only hate can justify this.I still have the Connair scale I bought and I enjoy it daily. It was very affordable. This one here lasted with me for about a week or less. The Connair is definitely a superior product. And there are many Connair scales you will find available. Based on experience with many scales you will not go wrong with a Connair, no matter what the model or price. The one I use is the cheapest bottom-of-the-line; the more you pay give you even better ones!! Keep weighing (??)Some people complain about accuracy- I think it does well enough at about +/- 0.5 lb per weighing. The major problem is that while it does display the weight in kg, lb, and stone (!?!) it does not stay in that setting but reverts to kg after each weighing. This means that you have to reach over, lift the display end of the unit, and press the "UNIT" button to get the measurement in lb or stone. Not super convenient. At least it can be done either after zeroing but before stepping on the scale, or as an afterthought when stepping off the scale while the weight is still displayed in kg. A nice improvement would be for the device to remember its unit setting. Otherwise not too bad for the price.Well the scale works but if it is not in the exact same place every time you seem to get quite a variance in your weight. I don't expect to to be exact like the Dr's. It does give you a base line and if you know what you need for your weight it certainly better then nothing. It will do for rough feel of where you are at with your weight. Not good if you are looking for really accurate results. This scale is sleek and can be used with any decor. It has settings for kg or lbs. Simple to use. Do not use on plush carpet because it will change the lbs back to kgs. It looks delicate but seems sturdy. It was calibrated well. Am very happy.I bought this because of the great deal. Numbers are easy to read. I figured when would the kids mess wit it. Boy was I wrong. Great buy for a young child free house.Looks nice and sounded like the ideal gift for someone trying to lose weight -- but she just got in touch with me, saying that it won't hardly turn on, or even stay on the right unit of measurement once it does! It has to be "dropped" from about a height of half an inch to activate, which is hard for an older customer to do every time, and always resets to kilograms once it is on, so she has to bend AGAIN to rest it each time. I cannot imagine that this is what the designers had in mind, so maybe this one is defective? Regardless, it has become a purely decorative phenomenon, when what was needed was a useful weightloss tool.Because of the price, I wasn't expecting much from this scale. However, the quality is great and while the weight sometimes varies each time you use it, you usually get a solid reading after a few attempts. Would surely recommend. It works.
