My Waring Pro blender leaked from the day I bought it, but I put up with it, since it wasn't a bad leak, just annoying if I put the jar in the 'fridge with leftover frappucino that didn't fit in my glass. When the blade broke, I thought about replacing the blender since it leaked, but then figured why not save some space in the landfill and some money, too, so I opted to just replace the blade. Glad I did!! The leak must have been from the pivot point where the blade shaft goes through the plastic housing on the original blade assembly, because the assembly is all I changed, and it no longer leaks! The blade assembly (bought from CulinaryParts on the Amazon site) looks exactly like the original, down to the little ridge-rings around the flat part, and the thickness of the blades themselves and the plastic housing. The original blade lasted 18 months and I (ab)use the blender once a day on most weekdays and at least three times a day on weekends and twice on my telework day. I don't use enough liquid for the amount of ice I put in and I leave it running too long, and - well, if this blade assembly lasts as long, I'll be happy. I'll let you know -- so if you read this two years from now and I haven't updated it, it means the blade is still going strong. Fingers crossed...The picture and manufacturer tells people they will be getting a genuine Waring replacement part. They part I received was completely different than what is represented and did not perform as well as the original blade (it left a lot of un-blended fruit in my smoothie). I talked to Junior in customer service who assured me I would hear from a manager on this issue. I have not. Also, Junior assured me this was the part Waring is shipping to them. I went to the Waring website and found I have an authorized Waring repair center very closre to my home so I took their replacement part in for confirmation. What Junior @ Goodman's claimed is a genuine Waring replacement part is in fact by a third party. The owner of my local repair center personally knows Mr. Goodman and vouches that he is a good man. It appears others in his company can not make the same claim as I have received a misrepresented part that the company refuses to address because now the 45 day return window has elapsed. Had they sent me the part in the picture that is made by Waring as the part description states I would not be writing this review. My advice is to buy from an authorized repair center or you will most likely not get a genuine part.We were very excited by the performance of this blade and then very disappointed by its quick failure. It really can do everything it says, but, like the other reviews have said, simply doesn't last. Our started to leak a little, than a lot. We replaced the gasket and then the base, but to no avail. Having put the blender in the sink and watched it spin liquid out everywhere, I believe the problem is that, when it spins, the blade rises up creating a gap and shooting whatever fluid is in your blender through that space and on to your kitchen counter. So yet a great product done in by its own unreliability.Good product, I only wish this product was made of stainless steel, the plastic portion of this blade assembly warps and leaks after a couple of months use. But for the price it's good enough. My daughter turned me on to the Waring blender, my opinion the best blender out there bar none. Even more expensive models do not puree or make a better smoothie. If any problems take to a repairman for small appliances. Worth it. Have had mine for years and love it to death!!!Exactly what I needed to fix my existing and much used blender. I hate waste, so being able to get the right replacement part so that I can keep using my otherwise functioning blender makes me happy. Plus, buying this part was much cheaper than buying a whole new blender.Exact replacement for the blade I broke. Works like new.Just like the one it replaces which lasted long. Blender now 37 years old.
