Easy to install. Works very well.Update: Door handle keeps failing to recognize fingerprints and the key wouldn't even work last night. It also won't maintain a Bluetooth connection. My husband works nights so when it failed on him, that meant he woke everyone up in the house by knocking to get in. I plan to switch back to a regular door handle because it isn't worth the headache.I have 3 kids so juggling them and groceries and sport equipment to get inside can be a chore. Especially in the dark!This is about as easy to install as a standard door knob. The only extra steps are attaching the small wire, inserting 4 AAA batteries (not included) and syncing it with the app.I did have some difficulty adding family members and found it easy to add them as "other" then change their access to "permanent" and then switch them to "family." After that, you just record your fingerprints and you're good to go! Battery stays charged and there's two keys for backup. I also like that I can set a temporary code for someone to gain access when I'm not around. That'll be nice when I'm on vacation and need someone to bring mail in or water plants.Functions very smoothly!Good fingerprint lock. Bring a lot of convenience to my life. I really enjoy theI got this Fingerprint Door Lock cuz I forgot my keys sometimes. The cool thing is that I can use my phone to connect to it and the process is easy. The manual is very helpful, I keep the metal keys just in case.I love this doorknob way more than I thought I would. The fingerprint scanner works very well. It also makes a very satisfying robot noise whenever the door is unlocked. I've had multiple guests compliment it sofar ?I really wanted to LOVE these handles (I ordered two) but I only LIKE them. While they have a heavy-duty feel to them when you grab them, I just don't like some things about them.1. The instructions are poorly written, appearing like they were either translated from Chinese in a poor fashion or written by someone who is not well-versed in English. There are misspellings, wrong words, and missing information. There is also contradicting information, like the instruction sheet saying to download the "Smart Life" app but the product listing says to use the "Tuya" app (they appear to be the same but under different names, which makes me wonder why there are two and what the differences are).2. The "silver" handle is indeed silver, not satin or brushed nickel. So if you have a higher quality deadbolt, whether it is manual or electronic that is nickel like I do, this handle simply does not match at all and looks very strange next to it.3. The handle keeps going into auto-lock mode and there is no information in the instructions or app on how to turn it off. There are times I just want the handle to stay unlocked but find myself on the outside of the door and the handle is locked again for some reason. It makes me nervous that I am going to get locked out at some point, not to mention how inconvenient it is to constantly have to unlock it again whenever I walk out for a second. It would be helpful if there was a setting in the app to turn this feature OFF permanently but there is not.4. The keys are weird. They are like little sticks, not like traditional keys. I don't even know if keys like these can be copied to create extra backups, I have never seen them before.5. Battery life is to be determined, I am hoping that the batteries last a while because there is no easy access to the battery compartment without having to unscrew the cover with a screwdriver.Now for the things that I like about the handles:1. They feel sturdy and strong, even though the finish could be better (like using nickel instead of silver paint).2. I like the emergency power option. I am keeping a small USB power bank outside the door in case I need to plug it into the handle in case it drains of power unexpectedly.3. I like that you can add many different fingerprints and codes and assign names to them in the app. For example, I added my thumb AND my pointer finger so I can use either, and other people can have their own prints registered in there as well.Tip for the Wi-Fi gateway version: the instructions don't mention this, but you need to plug in and activate the gateway device on your network before the app can find your door handle. The instructions are written like you just pair the app/phone with the door handle using Bluetooth, but after 20 minutes of trying to get the app to find my door handle, I set up the Wi-Fi gateway and then the app could finally find the handle. This should have been in the instructions from the beginning.For now, I give these handles four stars. If any issues arise, I will update this review.I like this handle and so far it works well. Install is pretty straight forward and it looks really good! Configuring it to the app and Wifi hub is a little more difficult. I was able to get it setup remotely on using the included Wifi adapter but when it came to linking it to my Alexa account thats where Ive run into issues. While my accounts are linked in both apps it does not show in my Alexa devices. While this is not a deal breaker for me it is something that I will continue to correct. Other than that its a nice door handle with alot of features including Geo tracking.Easy to install: took me 10 mins.Pros: it's exactly as advertised. Nice lock for indoor doors (home office, bedroom, etc).Cons: Wifi feature does not work. This is a local (bluetooth) device from the app. Otherwise the fingerprint and numpad key work fine.There's also NO indicator of if the door is locked from the inside. So if your door is locked, there's no LED, but the handle will open the door even if its locked. So this is a big problem. There's no easy fix. It should have an indicator, such as a small greed/red LED, or at least have the ability to disable the ability to open the door from the inside while its locked.Another issue is there are no settings on auto-locking. It auto-locks if the user locked it from the inside and then someone unlocked it, but there's no way to have an auto-lock feature, or change the time before it auto-locks.Installed the lock no problem but had issues connecting to wifi/internet. Called support number on the manual. They checked the Amazon order number and said I have purchased the lock from unauthorized reseller, hence they refused to give me support. Message seller few times, only offered to return it for a refund, which is not what i'm looking to do. No support provided. Lock works good but cannot control it over internet/Wifi.Great lock. My only complaint is the app. I can’t get that working but the fingerprint and the key work great.- Automatic lock feature is convenient but there is no clear way to tell if it is set on or off; the automatic lock can be turned on or off by a tiny button located on the inside handle. When auto-lock is set on, the door will automatically set itself to lock after unlocking for you. Since this lock can lock itself, this ensures that your door is always locked and you will never have to remember to set your lock. This feature is perfect for those who live with roommates or prefer privacy. BE CAREFUL! The caveat is that you are unable to tell if the automatic lock feature is set to on or off. If someone presses your button, they can turn off the self-locking feature and require you to manually set the door to lock.. and if you are unaware to do so, well it kind of defeats the purpose of this product.- Simple to install - user manual and link to installation video included; similar process to a regular door handle; some tools are provided but you may need additional tools e.g. chisel- Uses Smart Life App (IOS/Android) to store fingerprints; multiple fingerprints can be stored; we have both left and right thumb and index prints for two people; allows the mobile device to act as a key/button to unlock the door; the app will also display the remaining battery life of the door lock- Following several failed attempts to unlock, a “lockout period” occurs where the fingerprint sensor blinks repeatedly and you must allow a cool-down period; lockout occurs only after your fingerprint is rejected several times; fix this issue by rescanning each and every angle of your fingerprint and making sure your finger is dry when attempting to scan.- 2 physical keys are included; they are silver-coloured and have a thin head (pictured). The physical keys can be used to unlock the door if the battery happens to run out; a keyhole is located at the tip of the door handle/lever; multiple unlock methods include: fingerprint scan, using the app as a key, using a physical key, or through numbered passcode input.- Lever is thick and long enough for large hands to grasp; feels smooth and sturdy; shaped like a rectangular prism which took some time to get used to; would prefer the lever to be cylindrical instead- The sideways orientation of the numbers is not ergonomic and they are very hard to read- Uses four triple-A (4 AAA) batteries which are housed in the lever- Remote/long-distance control is possible via WiFi; the separate device required for this to function was not included with my order- Product feels durable and is functioning well. It's a bit more conspicuous than I'd like but and the design could be a bit more secure but so far I am satisfied with the product and I think that it is fairly priced. I am not experiencing any issues at this time.UPDATE - have had several issues with both locks (have two) not opening, despite accepting the code, and have had to resort to using the physical key, which defeats the purpose of these locsk. As such, I'm downgrading the review from a 4/5 to a 1/5.Feature Rich But Difficult to Install & Privacy ConcernsThere are a lot of features and locking options with this door lock. You can unlock it via the key, code, fingerprint, or the app. You can also remotely lock or unlock the door handle. It even keeps a log, including entry attempts, and can send you alerts when someone attempts entry. Very handy/informative to know when someone’s attempted to use the handle. It also has a backup micro USB power port should the batteries die, and you don’t have the keys handy.Build quality & aesthetics are a bit hit and miss. The design looks modern, but the paint finish isn’t premium looking, and the ring that covers the door hole is smaller than the standard, so it requires some touchup paint, unless the door is brand new. If you’re replacing a door handle, you’ll have to use a little touchup paint to clean it up a bit.The mat black looks nice, but appears susceptible to scratching which could be an issue if you frequently wear rings. We’ve had it installed for about a month, and we’ve already noticed a bit of wear on it.Installation was a bit more difficult than a standard door handle, and took about 35 minutes total, including setting up the app. Instructions are relatively clear, but installation may pose an issue for those not mechanically inclined.A lot to like about this locking handle, and it has a ton of features, however, if you have privacy concerns, this may not be the right lock for you, as everything is programmed via the app, which requires an account. This app stores your fingerprint, and also has access to certain permissions, which feels a little overly invasive and unnecessary for an interior door lock.While I can appreciate the utility of controlling some locks via an app, like a front door deadbolt, I’m not sure it’s warranted on an interior locking handle. I also have concerns that the required app stores your biometric fingerprints, and requires you to sign up for an account before it works. Access to this information seems too invasive.Final Thought: A bit hit and miss. Lots of features and works well, but the fit, finish, size and aesthetics are a bit off and some may have privacy concerns with the app. It’s also a bit difficult to install which may pose an issue to some. However, the lock does have a lot of features, which wouldn’t be possible without the app. If you value features, like the biometrics, notifications, intrusion log, etc.. over aesthetics and privacy, then it may well be worth considering.
